Galaxy Wall

I rolled out of bed at 6:30 a.m. to meet up with Chase. As I drove in the darkness I realized the days of early morning climbing might be over. My car's thermometer read 38 degrees. A little too cold for our liking. We bagged climbing for the morning and decided to meet at noon to try again.

We made the long approach to Galaxy Wall in Rock Canyon. I was impressed with the quality of the rock and the amount of routes in the area.  In the past I have discounted Rock Canyon. In the summer months it is always warmer and the routes always seem a little dirty. I now realize I haven't been giving the canyon a fair shot. It is a great spot with some great climbing. I think I will have to explore it more in the future.

Shooting from a distance

My idea to shoot the route "Outside Corner" didn't really come together. As I become more and more interested in shooting climbing, there is more I realize I need to learn. There are a lot of good shots that can just happen, but setting up a shot from a distance can take a lot of research. Some of these shots turned out to be okay, but there aren't any that I am particularly proud of. Regardless of how the shots turned out, I am glad we went for it.
